and he had to stay in to sign for all the deliveries.

OMG!! I thought everybody knew he had a vacation cottage in the Bahamas.
They said, he’s just hibernating at his home in North Pole. < *-*>
He’s in your fridge with the beer.
Just like you, JB, he loves his beer…so during the 10 months (Jan – Oct) that he is not on duty, he drinks with his reindeers and elves in the hinterlands of the North Pole…yeah, hiding from Mrs. Claus. In Nov., he stays sober and starts making toys with the assistance of the elves while his reindeers go on detox. By Dec., everyone is good to go!!!

jongbong, we see santa all year long but not necessarily in his red suit and white beard. during easter, he masquerades as the easter bunny…during the celebration of st. patrick’s day, he’s the leprechaun…etc., etc….and right here at yap, he’s the little green grouch in the garbage can! hahahaha
He is taking a break like he is entitled. If he was visible all year round, people would be on his back, begging him for things all the time.
He’s not hiding. He will change his costume and do other tasks to help.
Coz he also needs his rest. Just at home, chilling with Mrs Claus and the elves. And probably giving out random gifts here and there once in a while…

As water is a rare commodity in the North Pole, Mrs Claus can only launder Santa’s red suit once a year so it’s only Christmastime that he can make his appearance…it coincides too with his once-a-year bath. The rest of the year, he’s just frolicking with the reindeers…stink and all! hahaha
Santa shows up only during christmas season because it’s the only time he gives out gifts to well-behaved children, as a reward for being good…and the only time he can wear those heavy boots and thick, red, double-breasted suit (plus the hat).
Where has he been the rest of the year? Oh well, he has been snoozing and feasting over the left-over foods from the holidays, the reason he got so huge bordering between fatness and obesity.

Santa’s hiding in his North Pole bunker, drinking beer to keep himself warm and cozy. Once sober, he proceeds to his only job except Christmas: making a list of naughty and nice all year round.

He does many things during the other 364/5 days of the year. Like kickboxing,eat hearty meals, budgeting, and secretly date with celebreties. (Do not tell Mrs. Claus)
