What was 1984 a Centennial of? Contact a local coin shop and ask them if they have someone on premises who can assess the value of a coin. They probably do, and can make you an appointment. If they don't they would certainly know who does. Find a local coin shop in your phonebook.

What you have is commonly known as a silver round, and it’s value is based upon the current silver spot price ($17.20US). I hope that helps.
